Hooker Furnishings is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to independently manage full-cycle payroll operations across multiple states, including sales/use tax compliance and benefits billing administration.

The role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely processing, with options to work from Martinsville, VA, High Point, NC, or remotely as part of a flexible, multinational team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible payroll experience.
• Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes and wage/hour rules.
• Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Experience with UKG UltiPro preferred.
• Experience with 401(k) contributions and audits.

Responsabilités

• Manage full-cycle payroll processing across multiple states.
• Handle payroll calculations, deductions, reconciliations, and year-end processing.
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and wage/hour laws.
• Maintain payroll records and generate reports for audits.
• Stay current with UKG UltiPro system updates and HRIS administration.
