Job summary

The Bachrach Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for a multi-location transportation organization. This role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration with HR, Finance, and Operations.

You will manage full-cycle payroll, ensure timely processing, and support month-end/year-end activities while pursuing process improvements in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of payroll management or payroll administration experience.
• Experience processing payroll for multi-location organizations required.
• Union payroll experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis.
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Salary: $110,000-$130,000, depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle payroll process for a multi-location workforce.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Oversee payroll reconciliations, reporting, audits, and financial analysis.
• Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure strict confidentiality of employee information.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to prepare reports, analyze payroll data, and reconcile payroll information.
• Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting and compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, increase efficiency, and implement best practices.
• Assist with payroll-related projects and other departmental initiatives as needed.
