Job summary

Littleton Public Schools seeks a Payroll Manager to oversee district-wide payroll operations from payroll accounting to tax reporting. The role supervises Payroll Specialist and Payroll Analyst and collaborates with the Finance Department to maintain accurate payroll records.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in accounting (CPP desirable), 3–5 years payroll experience, and strong knowledge of current regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting is desirable.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Payroll accounting; ensure timely and accurate generation of district-wide payroll.
• Review, correct, and balance monthly payroll.
• Assist in correcting payroll journal entries and balance cash-in-bank.
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly payroll taxes.
• Reconciling monthly payroll liability accounts.
• Ensure compliance with BOE policies and government regulations; prepare all governmental reporting including 941's and W-2's.
• Assist staff members from the independent auditing firm, Colorado Department of Education, or other agencies in the performance of their audit functions.
• Preparing required payroll reports for PERA, Colorado Department of Education, and other agencies.
• Provide excellent customer service.
