PAYROLL MANAGER - RALEIGH-DURHAM AIRPORT AUTHORITY

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Payroll Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational execution of the Authority’s payroll function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll administration. This role leads payroll operations in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations, while driving continuous improvement in payroll processes, systems, and controls. Serving as the UKG Payroll and HRIS System Administrator, the Payroll Manager provides organization-wide leadership for system configuration, security, workflow design, and data integrity across payroll and related HRIS modules. This position serves as the Authority’s subject-matter expert in payroll and HRIS, supporting reporting, audits, and data-driven decision-making, while partnering closely with Finance, Human Resources, and other departments to ensure seamless, compliant operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance OR equivalent years of related years of experience

Experience:

Required:

• 5 years of payroll processing and HRIS experience
• 2 years of direct people management experience

Preferred:

• 7 years of payroll processing and HRIS experience
• 4 years of direct people management experience
• Experience with UKG or a similar HRIS

Licenses or Certifications:

Required:

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certification required or ability to obtain within 1 year of start date.
