Job summary

Mood Media in Fort Mill, SC is seeking a US Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of weekly and bi-weekly US payroll for about 500 employees using ADP Workforce Now.

You'll maintain tax profiles, ensure data integrity, run payroll reports, and act as liaison with HR, Accounting, and business leaders to ensure compliant, timely processing.

CPP certification is preferred; an associate degree or technical training is required.

Qualifications

• Must have 2–5 years of payroll experience in US multi-state environments.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now and payroll data integrity.
• Strong knowledge of tax profiles, wage-and-hour laws, and reporting.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar is preferred.

General Summary:

The US Payroll Manager serves as the primary administrator for US payroll in ADP, managing and overseeing all aspects of the payroll function for an employee base of approximately 500 employees. Key responsibilities include processing weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payrolls using ADP Workforce Now, managing data integrity, and handling reporting. This role acts as a primary liaison between payroll and other functional areas, delivering exemplary customer service while collaborating closely with Human Resources, Accounting, and business leaders to ensure accurate, compliant, and seamless operations.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing & Data Operations

• Oversee full-cycle bi-weekly & weekly payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt employees in the US region.
• Maintain tax profiles, tax jurisdictions, and core payroll records in compliance with tax authority mandates.
• Review Time & Attendance records weekly, following up on missing timecard information to ensure complete accuracy prior to payroll commit.
• Manage life-event updates including new hires, terminations, rate adjustments, and tax updates.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and local payroll, wage-and-hour, and labor standards.
• Continuously evaluate and strengthen internal payroll controls, workflows, and documentation.
• Conduct regular audits to detect, investigate, and correct payroll discrepancies immediately.
• Serve as the primary operational liaison for ADP, ensuring optimal service delivery and system functionality.
• Extract and distribute accurate bi-weekly benefit deduction files for external vendors.
• Generate routine and custom payroll analytics, including headcount, gross-to-net, and labor cost reports.
• Lead cross-functional payroll enhancement projects and software integrations as business needs evolve.

HR Systems & Data Management

• Oversee end-to-end data entry and system changes in ADP Workforce Now for all lifecycle events (new hires, job changes, transfers, terminations).
• Validate data accuracy across employee records to prevent errors in dependent automated workflows, reporting, and integrations.

Records Maintenance & Compliance Audit

• Establish and maintain organized, accessible, and secure personnel records in alignment with legal standards and company policies.
• Conduct comprehensive annual audits and employee files to ensure total regulatory compliance and record retention accuracy.
• All other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Qualifications:

• Assoc. degree from 2-year college or technical school or equivalent 3 years to 5 years experience
• Certified Payroll professional, (CPP) or similar preferred.
