Job summary

CFS is seeking a Payroll Lead to own a multi-state payroll function and to partner across HR, Benefits, Finance and Operations. You will lead a small team, ensure timely and accurate payroll, and maintain compliance with federal and state requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience
• Experience leading a team
• Experience supporting a multi-state workforce

Responsibilities

• Review timekeeping, wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and employee changes while resolving discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
• Oversee a small team of payroll specialists.
• Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll issues, maintain accurate employee data, and provide payroll reporting and support.
• Identify and implement process improvements, strengthen payroll controls, support system updates, and help ensure payroll procedures remain efficient and compliant.
