Job summary

LUMA Energy in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is seeking an experienced Payroll Accounting Analyst to coordinate recording, correction, and alignment of payroll data and labor allocations. The role ensures data integrity across Kronos, Workday, Oracle, and project accounting systems.

You will support monthly and year-end closes, draft labor-related reports for audits, and ensure compliance with payroll policies and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years' experience with payroll reconciliation, labor accounting, and audit support.
• Experience documenting policies and creating SOPs.
• Experience leading small projects and client support.
• Strong payroll and labor distribution accounting knowledge.
• Familiarity with labor allocations or project accounting preferred.
• Ability to manage large datasets and comply with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze labor-related journal entries and allocations by reviewing, reconciling, and adjusting payroll discrepancies, resolving variances, updating prior-period records, and maintaining accurate historical labor documentation for audits, federal submissions, and reimbursement processes.
• Process historical corrections in line with procedures, policies, and SLAs; guide requestors.
• Validate data across Kronos, Workday, project allocations, and financial reports with IT, HR, and GL.
• Support month/quarter/year close with accurate labor inputs and cross-team collaboration.
• Prepare labor-related reports and schedules for audits with complete documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, payroll policies, and regulations.
