Job summary

Franklin County Schools in Louisburg, North Carolina is seeking a Financial Assistant – Payroll/HR Support to perform specialized payroll and financial support duties within the Finance Department. You will be the primary day-to-day Finance contact with Human Resources for processing personnel actions affecting payroll and employee records.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of payroll practices and financial procedures.
• Strong data-entry, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to review, reconcile, and report payroll information.

Responsibilities

• Uses district financial and payroll software to perform assigned functions.
• Collects, reviews, edits, and enters employee hours and absences for payroll.
• Sets up new employees in payroll systems and processes changes after hires or separations.
• Maintains remote payrolls and reviews payroll information for accuracy.
• Processes payroll checks and related activities.
• Maintains deductions and employee direct deposit information.
• Ensures payroll records comply with state and local requirements.
