Job summary

Duncan Ford Mazda in Christiansburg, VA is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll/Accounting Clerk to join our accounting office.

You will calculate and process weekly and semi-monthly payroll, maintain accurate records, manage benefits, onboard new employees, assist with basic HR duties, and respond to payroll questions in a confidential, timely manner. This is a full-time role with overtime occasionally required.

Qualifications

• Payroll experience preferred.
• Administrative/Office: 1 year preferred.
• All candidates must be willing to submit a driving/background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Accurately calculate and process weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
• Monitor and process benefits for eligible employees.
• Maintain accurate employee records for current and termed employees, including onboarding new employees.
• Assist Office manager with basic HR duties.
• Assist employees with payroll questions, changes, etc. confidentially.
• Process garnishments and deduction payments.
• Process new car invoices and stock in new vehicles.
• Basic office duties as assigned.
