Job summary

KBR is seeking a driven Accountant to support general ledger, payroll accounting, and month-end close across a dynamic organization. The role involves payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting, with collaboration across Payroll, HR, and Finance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and payroll accounting.
• Experience with month-end close processes.
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts related to employee compensation, benefits, and payroll activities.
• Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries including wages, taxes, benefits, and accruals.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations of payroll accounts.
• Support payroll month-end and year-end close activities with accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist with audits by providing required documentation and schedules.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and SOX compliance related to payroll.
