Job summary

KBR in the United States is seeking a Lead Accountant for Consolidations & Intercompany to lead monthly close, consolidations, and external financial reporting. You will manage consolidation schedules, intercompany eliminations, and support SEC reporting processes.

This role partners with Finance, Tax, Internal Controls, and external auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate has strong U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public company environment.
• Experience supporting financial close, consolidations, and financial reporting activities.
• Experience applying U.S. GAAP principles to complex accounting transactions.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Prepare and review consolidation activities, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation journal entries.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and prepare management reporting schedules.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements.
• Support the preparation of information used in SEC filings and other external reporting requirements.
• Assist with SOX compliance activities and execution of internal control procedures.
• Partner with internal and external auditors by providing supporting analyses and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and control effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Finance, Tax, SEC Reporting, Internal Controls, and business stakeholders to support corporate accounting objectives.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced accounting team members.
