Job summary

NICO National Indemnity Company is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing across multiple entities. The role includes balancing payroll, processing deposits, and ensuring accurate tax withholdings. You will handle garnishments via Workday, support ERSP contributions, and collaborate with Finance for intercompany time allocations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), 2+ years of payroll experience, and familiarity with Workday HCM. CPP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Two+ years of work experience in payroll.
• CPP-APA certification preferred.
• Strong math skills (through Algebra).
• Experience with Workday HCM or equivalent.
• Proficient in PC software including spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of payroll wage and tax laws.

Responsibilities

• Processes payroll transactions and balancing for multiple companies.
• Calculates deposits for bi-weekly and special payrolls and enters final pay entries.
• Handles garnishments in Workday and communicates with affiliates about garnishment dates.
• Verifies ERSP deductions and processes related payments.
• Maintains tax setup and registration for payroll taxes.
• Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for Workday testing and garnishment processing.
• Provides payroll customer support and resolves issues in a timely manner.
