Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) is seeking a Data Reconciliation Associate to join our Employer Reporting team in Augusta, ME. The role focuses on analyzing and reconciling employer payroll data submitted to MainePERS defined benefit plans.

You will research discrepancies, prepare corrections, and maintain detailed records. Strong analytical skills and Excel proficiency are essential for accurate, timely data integrity and collaboration with auditors and employer staff.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Accounting or Business with two years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities; ability to learn complex systems

Responsibilities

• Analyze and reconcile employer payroll data.
• Research discrepancies, inconsistencies, missing information, and other data issues to determine causes and resolutions.
• Collaborate with employer staff, MainePERS employees, and auditors to research and resolve data issues.
• Recommend data corrections based on analysis and reconciliation.
• Maintain detailed documentation and tracking of data analysis and proposed corrections.
• Prepare information and progress reports to support management and auditors.
• May verify and approve data corrections processed by others.
• May support other team members with reconciliations of individual employer accounts as needed.
