Job summary

Bloomin’ Brands is seeking a detail-oriented payroll coordinator to join our payroll team in Tampa, FL. You will use Workday to review payroll inquiries from restaurant and RSC team members, assist in processing payroll for hourly and salaried staff, and support in various duties as assigned.

The role is based in Tampa with a hybrid schedule: in the office three days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday mandatory) and remote two days per week. No relocation assistance is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3+ years of payroll experience.
• Proficient in Excel with ability to learn SOPs quickly.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for payroll inquiries including earnings or deductions questions.
• Review and process ACH returns; assist in off-cycle checks as needed.
• Process on-demand checks for terminations in states with immediate pay.
• Collaborate with payroll team on weekly multi-state payroll, pay adjustments, audits, and pay anomalies.
• Support third-party unemployment claim processor with information requests.
• Assist payroll tax team with audits as needed.
• Update and develop payroll process documents as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Payroll Leadership Team.

Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, customer-focused payroll coordinator to join our payroll team.Key responsibilities include using Workday to review and respond to payroll inquiries from our restaurants and Restaurant Support Center (“RSC”) team members, aiding in the processing of payroll for Hourly and Salary team members, and other duties as assigned.

This role is based in our Tampa, FL Restaurant Support Center and will work in the office three days a week minimum (Tuesday and Wednesday are mandatory) and remote 2 days/week, so candidates should be local to Tampa Bay or be willing to relocate immediately. This role is not eligible for relocation assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Provide support for all payroll inquiries including questions regarding earnings or deductions, stop payment requests, immediate pay terminations, pay card requests, etc.
• Review and process ACH returns, and assist in processing of off-cycle checks, as needed
• Process on-demand checks for terminations in states that require immediate pay upon termination
• Work collaboratively with other payroll team members in processing weekly multi-state payroll to include preparing pay adjustments, preparing audits, inquiring with restaurant management on pay anomalies
• Support our third-party unemployment claim processor with information requests
• Assist in answering garnishment inquiries from our third-party garnishment admin (ADP) and performing audits on garnishment withholdings
• Assist payroll tax team with audits as needed
• Update and develop additional process documents, as required
• Other duties, as assigned by the Payroll Leadership Team

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience/Skills:

• 3+ years of professional experience
• Basic knowledge of federal and state wage and tax laws or the aptitude and drive to learn quickly from direct training, existing SOP documentation, and asking clarifying questions
• Able to meet deadlines and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge and experience utilizing Microsoft Excel with a desire to grow capabilities
• High ethical standards and commitments to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information
