Job summary

Calibre CPA Group is seeking a Payroll Compliance Manager to join our Compliance department. The ideal candidate will analyze payroll, tax, and personnel records to ensure employer compliance with collective bargaining agreements. This role manages multiple clients and staff, with occasional travel; position is hybrid/remote but candidates must reside in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in audit, payroll and/or employee benefits plans.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Able to interact with all levels including attorneys.
• Familiarity with contracts and collective bargaining agreements is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, plan and facilitate efficient completion of payroll engagements.
• Review and approve drafts of audit findings reports and evidentiary matters.
• Manage multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
• Supervise staff auditors and provide guidance during audits.
• Interface with clients and their legal counsel on audit issues.
• Train and mentor staff auditors and review their work.
• Understand complex contracts and collective bargaining agreements.
