Gill Auto Group is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our Livermore-based team. The role involves compiling payroll data from time sheets, updating records for taxes and benefits, and ensuring accurate wage computations and paycheck issuance.

You will coordinate with the office manager on insurance forms and handle hiring/termination paperwork as needed. We offer training, a strong culture, paid vacation, and opportunities for advancement.

Formación

• Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Compile payroll data from hours, bonuses, and commissions from time sheets and records.
• Update master payroll records for tax exemptions, insurance, and compensation changes.
• Compute wages and deductions and post to payroll records.
• Prepare and issue paychecks.
• Maintain records for vacations and sick-day eligibility.
• Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
• Process hiring and termination paperwork including COBRA letters.
• Coordinate employee insurance forms with the office manager.
• Communicate payroll issues professionally and effectively.
• Maintain a neat, professional work area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Summary

Compiles and maintains payroll records by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties

• Compiles payroll data such as hours worked; sales volume, bonuses, and commissions; monies to be withheld for taxes; employee contributions to insurance and retirement plans; etc., from time sheets and other records.
• Updates master payroll records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages such as federal and state tax exemptions, insurance coverage, etc., and data concerning compensation increases, promotions and/or transfer of employees between departments.
• Computes wages and deductions, reviews for accuracy and posts to payroll records.
• Prepares and issues paychecks.
• Keeps records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
• Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
• Prepares/files all hiring and termination paperwork including COBRA letters.
• Maintains records for vacations and sick-day eligibility.
• Processes all employee insurance forms and insurance payments in coordination with office manager.
• Understands employee payroll issues, and communicates solutions effectively, professionally, and respectfully.
• Maintains professional appearance and neat work area.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
