Job summary

Ensign Services, Inc. seeks a Payroll Clerk to support our growing health care client base nationwide. The Junior Payroll Clerk handles garnishments, verifications of employment, and manual checks, requiring accuracy and timeliness.

Based at the San Juan Capistrano Service Center, CA, you will assist auditors, manage payroll tasks, and collaborate with the team during peak periods. A high school diploma is required; accounting coursework is a plus, with strong Excel/Word skills expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree in accounting or related field is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Must be a team player, motivated and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain garnishment files with third-party vendors.
• Process and maintain verifications of employment.
• Sort and sign for all manual checks, including FedEx delivery.
• Process manual checks for garnishment refunds.
• Support internal and external auditors as required.
• Assist with scanning, filing and other payroll-related admin tasks.
• Handle ad hoc payroll projects and tasks as assigned.
