Job summary

Bay Shore Staffing is seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Specialist for a temp-to-perm opportunity. You will process payroll for 200+ employees, administer benefits, and maintain ADP Workforce Now HRIS records. Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reliable employee support.

This role offers a temporary duration of approximately 2–4 months with a potential permanent hire and a collaborative environment focused on accuracy and service.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably supporting 150+ employees.
• Hands-on experience administering employee benefits programs.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, and wage and hour regulations.
• Experience with 401(k) administration and benefits reconciliations preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and HRIS/payroll reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely biweekly payroll for 200+ employees.
• Maintain payroll records and employee information using ADP Workforce Now.
• Review and audit payroll transactions, including deductions, tax withholdings, wage changes, and timekeeping.
• Process payroll adjustments, corrections, retroactive payments, and off-cycle payrolls.
• Administer wage garnishments and other payroll-related deductions.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations, reporting, and year-end processing, including W-2s.
• Coordinate employee benefits enrollment, changes, terminations, and annual open enrollment.
• Respond to employee questions regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, and enrollment.
• Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and coordinate with insurance carriers and vendors.
• Process 401(k) contributions and assist with retirement plan administration.
• Support benefits-related audits, compliance reporting, and employee communications.
• Maintain accurate employee records within ADP Workforce Now.
• Ensure compliance with applicable payroll, tax, wage and hour, and benefits regulations.
• Prepare payroll and benefits reports for HR, Finance, and management.
• Assist with audits, system updates, and process improvements.
