Job summary

The City of West Hollywood is seeking an Accounting/Finance Specialist (Payroll) to support payroll operations. You will process biweekly payroll, enter timecard data, review leaves and benefit information, and audit payroll data for accuracy.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's degree or equivalent and 3–4 years of related experience; municipal payroll knowledge and Tyler ERP experience are a plus. This role offers up to 50% remote work, subject to approval.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Three to four years of progressively responsible payroll-related experience.
• Municipal payroll familiarity is highly preferred.
• Ability to interpret labor contracts and state/federal rules.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll and review timecards and leaves.
• Reconcile payroll accounts, prepare journal entries, and assist with reporting.
• Reconcile benefit deductions and payments to providers.
• Provide support to employees and supervisors on payroll matters.
• Maintain confidential payroll files, schedules, and databases.
• Assist with year-end payroll processes and audits.
• Prepare reports and correspondence; support other finance functions as needed.
