Job summary

High 5 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to manage weekly payroll for 100+ employees and oversee benefits enrollment and deductions. The role requires expertise with multiple pay types and strict compliance with Colorado regulations.

You will ensure accurate payroll records, coordinate 401(k) contributions, and handle year-end tax documents while maintaining confidentiality and providing timely employee support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in payroll processing and/or benefits administration.
• Experience processing payroll for 100+ employees.
• Familiarity with mixed compensation structures, including hourly, salary, and commission-based employees.
• Experience processing weekly payroll cycles.
• Experience auditing employee timesheets.
• Ability to maintain confidential payroll information.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for 100+ employees
• Manage payroll across multiple company structures/entities
• Handle mixed compensation models, including hourly and commission-based pay
• Review, verify, and process employee timesheets
• Administer payroll taxes, including Colorado tax compliance
• Coordinate employee benefits enrollment, deductions, and updates
• Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee questions in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company payroll regulations
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance, wage laws, and tax reporting
• Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, including Colorado state payroll taxes
• Support and manage 401(k) plan administration, including audits, compliance testing, and contributions reconciliation
• Prepare, review, and distribute year-end tax documents, including W-2s, ensuring accuracy and compliance
