The position focuses on payroll accounting and benefits administration to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. Under the Payroll Supervisor, you will handle payroll inquiries, process vendor payments, prepare benefit communications, and support enrollment and reporting activities.

Qualifications

• High level of accuracy and ability to work under stressful conditions.
• Thorough knowledge of benefit and payroll issues to problem-solve and administer employee benefits.
• Typing 40 wpm and proficiency with Word and Excel.
• A.A. or B.A. degree preferred; experience in payroll or benefits helpful.
• Valid Alaska Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Respond to payroll questions promptly, upholding high standards of customer service.
• Type administrative letters, correspondence, and reports; maintain filing systems.
• Follow internal controls to ensure system integrity.
• Process vendor payments and reconciliations by deadlines.
• Support payroll processes in accordance with laws and policies.
• Assist with employee status changes and verification of service requests.
• Serve as point of contact for benefit inquiries and documentation.
• Prepare communications and educational materials on available benefits.
• Maintain procedures to administer employee benefits and retirement programs.
• Compile and analyze benefit-related reports regularly.
• Assist with coordinating the annual Employee Benefit Fair.
• Calculate health insurance premiums and maintain related reference data.
• Collaborate with employees to resolve benefit program issues.
• Assist with open enrollment and provide backup to payroll staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
