Job summary

Ogden City Economic Development Division is seeking a Payroll Administrator to oversee the biweekly payroll processing for all city departments and ensure accurate, timely compensation. You will manage benefit withholding, retirement reporting, and complex payroll transactions while maintaining confidentiality.

The role requires knowledge of clerical accounting, payroll procedures, and compliance with applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Two years of general clerical and accounting experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Utah Retirement Systems preferred.
• Experience with Tyler Technologies software systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work under deadlines and handle biweekly payroll for all departments.
• Post data to ledgers, registers, journals and logs.
• Process timekeeping and payroll records; balance payroll reports.
• Manage retirement reporting and related forms.
• Assist with payroll inquiries and explain procedures to staff.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
