Job summary

Avanos Medical is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist for the EMEA region. The role focuses on payroll accuracy, employee data integrity, and compliant HR insights across multiple EU entities.

You will partner with the social secretariat, manage benefits and insurance administration, and build HR reports to support management decisions, while staying aligned with Belgian regulations and global HR standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in HR or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of payroll management and HR operations experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and Belgian labor law; experience with other EMEA countries is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, run, and verify monthly payroll in collaboration with the social secretariat (6 EU-based entities).
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR system data; ensure audit readiness.
  • Ensure full compliance with Belgian labor and tax regulations.
  • Serve as the go‑to contact for payroll and benefits questions.
  • Manage insurance and benefits administration and provider communications.
  • Build and maintain HR reports (headcount, absenteeism, overtime).
  • Contribute to process improvements and data quality across HR operations.
  • Coordinate with external partners like social security, tax authorities, and insurers.
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations Manager on strategic HR projects.

Payroll & HR Operations Specialist – EMEA

Are you passionate about payroll accuracy and HR excellence? We're looking for a detail-driven professional to take ownership of payroll and employee data for our EMEA region, playing a key role in supporting management with reliable, compliant HR insights.

What you'll do
  • Prepare, run, and verify monthly payroll in close collaboration with our social secretariat (6 EU-based legal entities).
  • Keep employee records and HR system data accurate, up to date, and audit-ready
  • Ensure full compliance with Belgian labor and tax regulations
  • Be the go-to person for employees on payroll and benefits questions
  • Manage insurance and benefits administration — affiliations, de-registrations, changes, and provider communication
  • Build and maintain HR reports that give management clear visibility (headcount, absenteeism, overtime, and more)
  • Help drive process improvements and data quality across HR operations
  • Liaise with external partners such as social security, tax authorities, and insurance providers
  • Partner closely with the HR Operations Manager on a variety of strategic HR projects
What you bring
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in payroll management and broader HR operations
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and Belgian labor law; experience with other EMEA countries is a real plus
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS/payroll tools (SAP HR, Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar)
  • A rigorous, autonomous, and proactive mindset with a sharp eye for detail
  • Fluency in English and Dutch (spoken and written); additional European languages are a strong asset
