Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Manager to oversee payroll and employee benefits across the US and Canada. Reporting to the Director of Finance and collaborating with HR and external partners, this role requires expertise in North American payroll and benefits compliance, legal requirements, and tax obligations. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless, compliant payroll and benefits administration, enhancing employee experience and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage bi-national payroll operations, benefits vendors, and system integrations.
  2. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  3. Oversee open enrollment, benefits administration, and resolve discrepancies.
  4. Generate payroll and benefits reports, and handle tax filings and regulatory reporting.
  5. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to streamline processes and ensure compliance with laws such as ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
  6. Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries and support strategic improvements.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; CPP designation is a plus.
  2. 5-7 years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.
  3. Deep knowledge of payroll systems, benefits, and compliance regulations.
  4. Proficiency in HRIS systems (experience with BambooHR and PayEvo is a plus).
  5. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to manage sensitive data and prioritize tasks effectively.
