Augsburg University is seeking a Payroll, Benefits, and Leaves Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll processing, benefits administration, and leave programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and data integrity in Workday.

You will collaborate with internal partners and external providers to optimize workflows, manage retirement plans, and lead annual open enrollment and related audits. This on-campus role offers some remote work after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five (5) or more years of directly related payroll and benefits/leave administration; an equivalent level of education/certification and directly-related experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated knowledge of payroll tax regulations at the federal and state levels.
• Advanced knowledge of employee benefit rules and regulations including health and welfare plans and ERISA-related benefits.
• Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines while managing competing demands.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to problem-solve using systemsthinking.
• Proven track record of collaboration and exceptional customer service.

Responsabilités

• Manages end-to-end bi-weekly payroll processes in Workday for faculty, staff, and student workers.
• Oversees payroll tax operations with third-party provider for reporting and filings.
• Manages deductions and retirement plans, including exemptions and garnishments.
• Administers, reconciles and audits benefits programs; manages enrollments and deductions.
• Oversees FSAs/HSAs and COBRA, coordinating with TPAs for compliance.
• Leads annual open enrollment and mid-year events; supports retirement plan audits.
