Job summary

Bezos Earth Fund seeks a Payroll & Benefits Partner to own and optimize payroll, benefits, and leave programs. You will work closely with the Chief People Officer, Finance, and external partners to deliver accurate payroll and compelling employee benefits.

The role emphasizes data integrity, compliance, and continuous process improvements to scale with the organization’s growth. The position is hybrid and based in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience administering payroll and employee benefits.
• Experience with HRIS implementation or optimization is preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer health, retirement, wellness, and other benefit programs, including new hire enrollments and annual open enrollment.
• Ensure data integrity across HRIS, payroll, carriers, brokers, and external partners.
• Partner with brokers and vendors to maintain competitive, compliant benefit offerings.
• Manage leave of absence programs and coordinate payroll/benefits impacts.
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule with proper deductions and taxes.
• Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll requirements.
• Serve as primary resource for employee questions on payroll, benefits, and leave.
• Develop clear communications to help employees understand their benefits.
• Implement and optimize HRIS benefits and payroll modules.
• Monitor processes for data accuracy and identify improvement opportunities.
