Job summary

University of Maryland College Park is seeking an Accountant I under the Payroll Manager to support payroll processing for 200-400 staff and a payroll budget of $2M-$4.5M annually. This role handles appointments, terminations, pay adjustments, time entry adjustments, and timesheet corrections.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least nine accounting credits, strong math and communication skills, and familiarity with Workday or UKG is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support payroll activities for assigned unit(s) including staff payroll.
• Process appointments, terminations, pay adjustments, and timesheet corrections.
• Assist employees with pay stubs, direct deposits, and payroll forms.
• Provide labor analysis and reporting to unit administrators.
