Job summary

University of Maryland seeks a payroll professional to support non-exempt, contingent, and student staff across assigned units. You will handle complex payroll tasks, assist employees with pay stubs and direct deposits, and provide labor analysis to unit administrators.

Role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and experience with payroll systems. The position is based on campus with standard university benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting or related field with related experience as described.
• Additional experience and education may substitute for the degree per policy.
• Degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex payroll and HR tasks to support unit staff (200-400).
• Process appointments and terminations each semester and pay adjustments.
• Make time entry adjustments and timesheet corrections as needed.
• Assist employees with pay stubs, direct deposits, parking, and timesheets.
• Provide labor analysis and reporting to unit administrators.
• Maintain office supplies and procure items per procedures.
