Are you an experienced payroll professional who knows ADP Workforce Now inside and out?
We're looking for a Payroll & Benefits Analyst who can take ownership of payroll processing and benefits administration supporting 3 U.S. locations. This is a hands‑on role for someone who understands the details of payroll, knows how to troubleshoot complex ADP Workforce Now issues, and enjoys finding ways to make processes more efficient, accurate, and reliable.
You’ll become the go‑to subject matter expert for payroll and benefits, with the opportunity to streamline processes, improve system functionality, strengthen reporting, and bring greater efficiency to the payroll operation.

What You'll Do
Own End-to-End Payroll Operations
- Manage accurate, timely bi-weekly and/or monthly payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees across multiple U.S. locations and entities.
- Serve as the primary internal expert on ADP Workforce Now payroll, including system configuration, workflows, reporting, troubleshooting, and data integrity.
- Process and audit payroll adjustments, bonuses, commissions, severance, taxable fringe benefits, and other complex payroll transactions.
- Review payroll results and identify discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and partner with Accounting to research and resolve variances.
- Lead year-end payroll activities, including W‑2 balancing, taxable benefit reconciliation, and year‑end adjustments.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve payroll processes within ADP Workforce Now.
Manage Benefits Administration
- Oversee day‑to‑day administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, and 401(k) benefits.
- Own the annual open enrollment process, including ADP Workforce Now configuration, rate and deduction testing, data validation, and employee communications.
- Monitor benefit carrier integrations and EDI feeds, identify transmission issues, and work with vendors to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate employee benefit elections, deductions, eligibility, and coverage data.
Support Compliance, Audits & Reporting
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state payroll and benefits regulations, including FLSA, ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and applicable state/local requirements.
- Support ACA reporting, EEO‑1 reporting, Form 5500 requirements, 401(k) compliance activities, and other required filings.
- Serve as the primary payroll and benefits contact for external auditors and provide accurate payroll registers, employee census information, deduction schedules, and other supporting documentation.
- Partner with Accounting and external auditors during annual financial and retirement plan audits.
- Research and resolve payroll and benefits discrepancies with a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Build and maintain custom ADP Workforce Now reports to provide leadership with accurate payroll, labor cost, benefits, and headcount information.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive hands‑on payroll experience, preferably supporting multi‑state payroll.
- Deep, hands‑on experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll. This is a critical requirement.
- Experience troubleshooting payroll issues, improving processes, and getting the most out of ADP Workforce Now.
- Experience processing payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.
- Strong understanding of payroll deductions, taxes, earnings, adjustments, benefits, and year‑end processing.
- Experience administering employee benefits and supporting annual open enrollment.
- Advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, pivot tables, nested formulas, and data reconciliation.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work with confidential employee and payroll information.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, managers, Accounting, leadership, and external vendors.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Nice to Have
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation.
- Experience with other HRIS/payroll platforms such as Workday, UKG Pro, Oracle, or Ceridian Dayforce.
- Experience supporting international payroll or employees outside the U.S.
- Experience with 401(k) audits, nondiscrimination testing, and retirement plan compliance.
