Job summary

The City of New York Police Department seeks an Administrative Accountant to serve as Supervisor of the Uniformed Personnel Transactions Unit. This role oversees payroll changes, audits, and staff development, ensuring accurate postings for new officers and payroll events.

You will conduct weekly audits in NYCAPS and CHRMS, field inquiries, and coordinate with the Compensation, Benefits and Leave Management Section to resolve issues and streamline processes.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree including 24 credits in accounting with relevant coursework.
• CPA license and supervisory accounting/auditing experience in admin capacity.

Responsibilities

• Oversees processing of financial changes due to night differential entitlements and other pay adjustments.
• Conducts weekly audits in NYCAPS and CHRMS to verify steps and suffix changes.
• Handles high volume payroll inquiries via phone and email.
• Collaborates with Compensation, Benefits and Leave Management to address issues.
• Develops and updates standard operating procedures for audits.
