About The Role

As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate payroll processing while supporting key HR functions. This is a hands‑on role requiring attention to detail, organization, and a strong sense of accountability.

What You'll Do

Payroll Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll by compiling, calculating, and entering data accurately and timely
• Maintain payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and tax information
• Track leave, non‑taxable wages, and earnings records
• Generate payroll reports and assist with audits as needed
• Issue paychecks and resolve discrepancies
• Ability to use Excel and manipulate spreadsheets confidently

Human Resources Support

• Maintain and update employee records (personal data, benefits, compensation)
• Support recruiting and onboarding activities
• Ensure new hire paperwork is complete and compliant
• Track PTO and vacation accruals
• Assist with benefits administration, including open enrollment
• Manage workers' compensation records and reporting
• Serve as a resource for employee HR‑related questions

What We’re Looking For

• 2–3 years of payroll experience with HR exposure
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas and functions required)
• Familiarity with payroll systems (UKG/UltiPro preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong organization, multitasking, and communication skills – able create a schedule that works for timely payroll submission
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail – demonstrate the ability to respect established procedures but be able to use critical and forward thinking to identify opportunities to improve processes
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
• Experience working in a fast‑paced or manufacturing environment is a plus

Language Skills

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Additional HR/payroll training or experience preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
