Job summary

Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to manage bi-weekly payroll and benefits enrollment on-site in Grand Rapids, MI. This role ensures accurate timecards, benefits data, and payroll processing while supporting HRIS systems.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of payroll and benefits experience, an associate degree or equivalent, and proficiency with HRIS, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. On-site position with strong teamwork and compliance focus.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis utilizing time management software and third-party payroll processor.
  • Track, monitor, and update Time Off, benefits, and other employee information.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits invoices to active employee list.
  • Conduct new employee benefit enrollment meeting, benefit administration, 401k enrollments, timecard training; assist employees with benefit and payroll questions.
  • Submit necessary claim information for employee leaves.
  • Send system-generated journal entry report to Accounting upon completion of payroll processing.
  • Provide payroll and benefits support during accounting/finance audits as needed.
  • Process employment verifications.
  • Provide administrative support by answering phones and greeting visitors.
  • Assist HR Generalists in on-boarding, including new hire checklists and HRIS module tasks.
  • Work within HRIS system and employee personnel files to maintain accurate employee payroll records.
  • Provide effective, responsive, and dedicated customer service to employees’ and managers’/supervisors’ inquiries and concerns in relation to time and attendance and benefits matters.

Overview of this Position:

This position facilitates the benefits administration and payroll process at GRAM. Processes benefits enrollments and changes, communicates benefits information, facilitate approved payroll changes, and process payroll. This is an on-site position.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:
  • 3+ years prior work experience and knowledge of payroll practices and procedures and employee benefits.
  • Associate’s degree and/or equivalent related work experience.
  • Must have proficient computer skills using an HRIS system, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Requirements
  • Previous experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS.
  • Previous experience with Employee Navigator.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
  • Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis utilizing time management software and third-party payroll processor. Ensure all timecards are accurate, complete, and have been approved. Enter and process new employee information and current employee change requests prior to payroll processing.
  • Track, monitor, and update Time Off, benefits, and other employee information.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits invoices to active employee list.
  • Conduct new employee benefit enrollment meeting, benefit administration, 401k enrollments, timecard training; assist employees with benefit and payroll questions.
  • Submit necessary claim information for employee leaves.
  • Send correspondence with instructions to newly eligible 401k participants.
  • Work with accounting/finance concerning 401k contributions.
  • Send system-generated journal entry report to Accounting upon completion of payroll processing.
