Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a payroll-focused professional in the US to manage multi-state payroll for a 24/7 distributed workforce. You will own the payroll close, ensure reconciliations tie to the general ledger, and handle registrations as sites come online.

You will also automate inputs for time, benefits, and equity events to maintain clean data flows. The role collaborates with People and Finance, supports hourly and shift workers, and may involve state registrations across growing sites.

Qualifications

• Experience running payroll end to end across multiple states.
• Ability to stand up payroll in new states from registration to filing.
• Strong reconciliations that tie each cycle to the GL.
• Ability to partner with People and Finance and maintain confidences.

• Stand up a lean finance org for the fastest-growing data center hyperscaler.
• Own the full stack from vendor invoice to cap table.

Role Scope

• Run payroll across US entities and states: salaried, hourly, and everything a 24/7 multi-site workforce generates.
• Own the payroll close: reconciliations, accruals, and the tie‑out to the general ledger every cycle.
• Handle registrations, filings, and notices across new states as sites come online.
• Automate the inputs: time data, benefits, and equity events flowing in clean.

What We're Looking For

• You've run multi‑state payroll end to end at a growing company.
• You've stood up payroll in new states, from registration through first filing.
• Your reconciliations tie every cycle, and off‑cycles don't rattle you.
• You resolve agency notices to closed, not to filed‑away.
• You partner with People and Finance and keep confidences absolutely.
• Bonus: Rippling or equivalent. Hourly and shift workforces. Equity payroll events. Payroll GL automation.

Compensation Range: $103K - $124K
