Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage daily payroll operations and ensure accurate, timely processing. You will reconcile payrolls, validate reports, and handle taxes on employer-paid benefits.

The role requires Kronos experience, SAP familiarity, and the ability to work across multi-company payroll environments while delivering strong customer service and analytical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily payroll operations and ensure timely processing.
• Reconcile payroll and validate reports before transmission.
• Understand employer-paid benefits taxation and garnishments.
• Handle Kronos time and attendance processing and interfacing.
• Process unclaimed property payroll checks and related compliance.
• Load import files from payroll divisions and reconcile runs.
• Prepare divisional payroll reports weekly for balance checks.
• Research and resolve payroll issues for assigned domains.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform daily payroll department operations.
• Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
• Understand proper taxation of employer-paid benefits.
• Understand garnishment calculations and compliance.
• Execute Kronos time and attendance processing and interface with payroll.
• Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks.
• Process manual checksLoad import files received from Payroll Divisional teams and reconcile in payroll run.
• Research and email appropriate audience of file issues.
• Prepare required divisional payroll reports on a weekly basis to ensure balancing of gross to net.
• Research and resolve payroll issues relating to their assigned.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Degree and/or three years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Education/Experience:

• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
• Knowledge working with SAP software and other payroll-related Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) such as Kronos
• Knowledge in processing in multi-company payroll environments
• Strong communication skills written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving.
