Job summary

Gusmer Enterprises is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accounting & Tax Analyst to support payroll accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting activities. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys reconciliations, problem-solving, and working across multiple functional areas to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

This role serves as a key link between Human Resources, Payroll, and Accounting and offers the opportunity to expand expertise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 3+ years in payroll accounting or related financial reporting.
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and payroll reporting.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax concepts and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS/payroll platforms.

Responsibilities

• Payroll Accounting & Financial Reporting: post payroll journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support month-end close.
• Tax & Compliance: review payroll tax reports, address notices, and assist with year-end reporting (W-2, W-3, 1095-C, 1094-C).
• Interdepartmental coordination: collaborate with HR, Payroll, and Accounting to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Benefits & regulatory compliance: assist with benefits, retirement plan compliance, and IRS requirements.
