Payroll Accountant (Remote) – Aline Accounting Partners

Type: Full-time

Location: Remote, US

At Aline Accounting Partners, we’re building something special — a CPA firm where you belong, and your career can thrive. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to join our growing team. This fully remote role will focus on managing payroll operations for our firm and supporting financial reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management

1. Process multi-state payroll accurately and on time using ADP Workforce Now.
2. Manage employee data, payroll adjustments, and ensure accurate tax filings.
3. Handle payroll taxes, benefits deductions, and wage garnishments.
4. Ensure compliance with state and federal payroll regulations.
5. Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
6. Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
7. Maintain general ledger accounts related to payroll expenses, benefits, and tax liabilities.
8. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
9. Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
10. Support audits by preparing payroll-related documentation as needed.

Compliance & Documentation

1. Maintain confidential payroll and employee data with discretion.
2. Ensure payroll processes adhere to internal controls and firm policies.
3. Stay updated on payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
2. 5+ years of payroll accounting experience in a corporate or professional services environment.
3. Experience with ADP Workforce Now and managing multi-state payroll.
4. Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, and compliance.
5. Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
6. Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
