KBR, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join the Mission Technology Solutions group in Houston, TX or Huntsville, AL. The role supports payroll accounting, general ledger integrity, and regulatory compliance across a complex organization.

You will prepare payroll journal entries, reconcile payroll accounts, assist with month-end close, and collaborate with Payroll, HR, and Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting and process improvements.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of payroll accounting or related finance experience.
• Understanding of payroll accounting principles and US GAAP.
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Knowledge of payroll taxes and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain payroll-related general ledger accounts and ensure accurate payroll postings.
• Prepare and post payroll journal entries, including wages, taxes, benefits, accruals.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations of payroll accounts.
• Reconcile payroll registers to the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support payroll month-end close and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, and Finance to ensure proper accounting treatment of compensation.
• Assist with audits, controls, and process improvement initiatives.
