CV Resources, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Accountant to own payroll for a 600-person multistate workforce and support the corporate accounting team with close, reconciliations, and reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of multistate payroll experience
• Solid accounting foundation with journal entries, reconciliations, and close support
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax and compliance requirements
• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, with discretion handling sensitive information
• Degree in accounting or finance preferred

Responsibilities

• Run weekly and biweekly payrolls across several states, from validating hours and deductions to final approval
• Keep the company compliant with federal, state, and local payroll tax and wage and hour rules
• Handle certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting
• Reconcile payroll tax filings at quarter-end and year-end, including W-2s
• Book journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist the team through month-end and year-end close
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and prepare sales, use, and excise tax returns
• Spot opportunities to streamline payroll processes and controls

A day in the life
