Job summary

Plaid Inc. is seeking a Payment Risk Consulting Lead to own customer engagements for Signal and Guarantee. You will interpret model outputs, diagnose performance, and translate findings into actionable threshold and rules recommendations.

You will lead proofs of concept and retros and help scale processes and product capabilities through customer-facing work. You will partner with AEs and TAMs to bring deep product and modeling expertise into engagements, improve reporting, and turn recurring

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in risk, data, or advisory roles.
• Ability to pull and interpret data using SQL.
• Experience interpreting risk, decisioning, or other quantitative model outputs.
• Strong client-facing consulting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own proofs of concept and retros from analysis to recommendations.
• Proactively optimize Signal customers, focusing on high-return accounts.
• Read model outputs and diagnose drivers of authorization and return-rate performance.
• Recommend threshold and rules changes aligned with customer goals.
• Help customers tune thresholds to achieve target authorization rates while protecting loss.
