Job summary

Column is seeking a core member of the Payment Operations team in San Francisco. You will scale our payment operations, automate processes, and drive efficiency across ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, and checks while partnering with Engineering and Compliance teams.

The role emphasizes building scalable systems and dashboards to support rapid growth. You will report to the Head of Solutions Engineering and work from our Presidio office with 3+ days in-person.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Proficiency in SQL, Javascript, Python; ability to learn quickly with AI.
• Familiarity with NACHA rules, wire transfers, and payment processing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement systems to optimize, automate, and scale payment operations.
• Operate end-to-end payment processes (ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, checks).
• Manage payment operations queue: triage, investigate, resolve inquiries.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor operations health and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Compliance, Risk, and Customer teams to ensure compliant resolution.
• Document processes and playbooks to enable onboarding and scale.
