Job summary

AEG is seeking a Manager, Payments and Fraud Analytics to lead macro-level analytics for payment performance and fraud risk. The role uses advanced SQL, data visualization, and payments expertise to identify opportunities to improve authorization, conversion, and reliability across markets and channels.

You will partner with major providers and internal teams, influence product and policy decisions, and potentially scale the analytics function with direct reports as the team grows.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, CS, Economics, Finance, Business or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 4–6 years hands-on SQL analysis with large datasets and dashboards.
• 4–6 years in payments analytics, fraud analytics, or risk-related field.
• 4–6 years leading cross-functional initiatives and coaching analysts.
• Strong SQL skills to join, segment, and interpret large datasets.
• Experience with Tableau/Looker and cloud data platforms like Snowflake.
• Knowledge of card payments, routing, settlement, chargebacks, fraud controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep-dive analysis of payment data including authorization, declines, conversion, routing, settlement, and cost data.
• Analyze fraud, chargeback, dispute, and loss data at the portfolio level; identify patterns and gaps.
• Build and maintain KPI definitions, SQL analyses, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Develop business cases and lead optimization initiatives for routing, approval uplift, fraud controls, and cross-border performance.
• Monitor high-volume on-sales and material events; perform root-cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Visa, Mastercard, Amex, ACI, Braintree, Stripe; review performance and hold partners accountable.
• Advise Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and senior leadership on priorities and policy changes.
• Establish operating model and standards for analytics; mentor and grow the team.
