BNY is seeking a detail-oriented Payment Processor for domestic and international wire transfers. You will validate instructions, process payments, and resolve exceptions in a high-volume, compliant environment. This is a 6-month contract based in Lake Mary, Florida, requiring on-site work four days per week.

Responsibilities include SWIFT/ISO messaging interpretation, client authentication, and collaboration with banks and teams worldwide to ensure accurate settlements.

Formación

2–4 years of experience in payments operations or related financial services.
Strong knowledge of SWIFT MT103 and MT202 messaging standards.
Understanding of ISO 20022 PACS.008 and PACS.009 messages.
Experience with end-to-end payment processing, investigations, and settlements.
Experience authenticating payment instructions, conducting client callbacks, and verifying transaction details.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent graduate-level education.
Ability to manage high transaction volumes under time-sensitive conditions.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payment Processor professional to support domestic and international payment processing for a leading financial services organization. This role focuses on validating payment instructions, processing wire transfers, and resolving payment exceptions while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in a high-volume environment.

This is a 6-month contract based in Lake Mary, Florida, with an expectation of 4 days a week on site.

Key Responsibilities

Payment Processing: Process and validate domestic and international wire transfers, ensuring transactions are accurate and completed within established service-level agreements (SLAs).
SWIFT Messaging: Review and interpret SWIFT MT103 and MT202 messages, along with ISO 20022 PACS.008 and PACS.009 payment messages.
Client Authentication: Conduct client callbacks and authenticate payment instructions by verifying signatures and confirming transaction details before processing.
Payment Investigations: Research and resolve payment exceptions, discrepancies, and repair items to ensure timely settlement.
Client & Partner Communication: Work with international clients, internal teams, and correspondent banks to address payment inquiries and resolve processing issues.
Risk & Compliance: Follow established operational controls, security procedures, and regulatory requirements to protect the accuracy and integrity of payment transactions.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve payment processing efficiency and support automation initiatives.

Qualifications

2–4 years of experience in payments operations, wire processing, or a related financial services function preferred.
Strong knowledge of SWIFT MT103 and MT202 messaging standards.
Understanding of ISO 20022 PACS.008 and PACS.009 messages.
Experience with end-to-end payment processing, investigations, and settlements.
Experience authenticating payment instructions, conducting client callbacks, and verifying transaction details.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent graduate-level education required.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high transaction volumes under time-sensitive conditions.

Preferred Experience

Experience supporting domestic Federal Reserve payments and international SWIFT payments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in operations.
Experience working with international clients in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
