Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 am – 4 pm or 7:30 am – 4 pm (flexible lunch hour)

Salary: $17.50 - $18.50, depending on experience

What work will you perform?

As a Payment Processing Specialist, you will play an important role in ensuring customer payments are accurately processed, posted, and reconciled. You’ll manage a variety of electronic and manual payments, research and resolve unapplied or duplicate payments, and make necessary adjustments to customer accounts. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys working with numbers, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and keeping financial information accurate and organized. Experience with Excel and basic accounting concepts, including debits and credits, will be valuable in this role as you begin or expand your career in transportation and logistics.

  • Process electronic and manual payments
  • Post complex payments and adjustments to customer accounts from bank lockboxes and online reports
  • Adjust and post corrections to payments
  • Resolve unapplied cash, over payments and duplicate payments, for proper application or refund
  • Write off appropriate credits to correspond with refunds
  • Ensure timely and accurate postings in a high-volume environment

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • One year of office administration experience required

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • 6 months of experience with accounts receivable processes, banking, or related financial functions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strength with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (intermediate experience including pivot tables, V lookup, X lookup).
  • Professional demeanor; effectively collaborate with peers for resolution
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to catch discrepancies
  • Capacity to investigate and research discrepancies
  • Strong math skills with emphasis in financials; understanding of debits/credits
  • Ability to work independently
