Job summary

Landstar Transportation Logistics seeks an Agent Training and Development Specialist to guide newly contracted Landstar Agents through onboarding, training and their initial months. You will deliver engaging virtual training, provide ongoing coaching and operational support to help agents navigate Landstar's systems and resources.

This role requires strong communication, customer service experience, and the ability to travel for onsite training or meetings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of customer service in an office setting.
  • Willingness to travel for onsite training or meetings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet usage.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive training on all Landstar systems, tools, and sites.
  • Deliver online training sessions and ongoing coaching.
  • Monitor new agent performance at 45/90/180 days.
  • Conduct weekly workshop training for agency staff.
  • Serve as the initial corporate point of contact for new agents.
  • Provide operational support and collaborate with Region Team personnel.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (9am - 6pm EST)

Salary: $19.00 - $22.86 per hour based on experience

What work will you perform?

As an Agent Training and Development Specialist, you'll play a key role in shaping the success of newly contracted Landstar Agents during one of the most important stages of their journey. Serving as the primary corporate point of contact, you'll guide new Agents through onboarding, training, and their initial few months with Landstar. You'll deliver engaging virtual training, provide ongoing coaching and operational support, and help Agents confidently navigate Landstar's systems and resources.   • Provide comprehensive training on all Landstar systems, tools, and sites
  • Deliver engaging and effective online training sessions
  • Monitor new agent performance at 45/90/180-day intervals
  • Conduct weekly workshop training for agency staff members
  • Process and respond to agents' customer account inquiries
  • Function as the initial corporate point of contact for new agents
  • Provide operational support when needed
  • Communicate and collaborate with Region Team personnel
  • Perform system demonstrations as requested
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Minimum Experience and Education:
  • High school diploma or General education degree (GED)
  • One year of customer service in an office setting
Preferred Experience:
  • 6 months of presentation experience, training experience, or equivalent of both
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to create and maintain positive relationships fostering communication and cooperation with agents and Region personnel. Always maintain professional demeanor
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet knowledge
  • Ability to analyze and apply critical thinking to solve issues in a timely manner
  • Effective communication skills in all modes
  • Ability to travel as required for onsite training or meetings and pre-pay for approved reimbursable expenses (i.e. hotel, meals, rental vehicles). Flights are paid for by the Company in advance.
