Job summary

The University of Rochester seeks a Financial Services specialist to accurately post third-party and patient payments, research unidentified payments, and generate refunds.

You will balance and post insurance and patient payments, coordinate with hospital departments and payers, and work in a hybrid role at Rochester Tech Park (RTP), Gates, NY with training and occasional in-person meetings.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting
• 2 years related cashiering or banking experience

Responsibilities

• Post third party and patient payments to individual patient accounts and generate refunds.
• Balance and post insurance payments and patient payments; determine patient responsibility.
• Research unidentified payments and communicate with hospital departments and insurers.
• Reconcile holding and offset accounts; verify and process refunds to payers.
• Serve as liaison between PAO and Medicare/Medicaid/Blue Cross/MVP for payment issues.
• Transfer funds between proper university and hospital general ledger accounts.
• Sort lockbox batches and process batches; balance to payment totals.
• Scan, pre-works, index batches, and post refunds and adjustments.

Education

Associate’s degree in Accounting
