We’re looking for a Payment Operations Specialist to join our team on a temporary contract covering a maternity leave. In this role, you’ll ensure the smooth and accurate processing of financial transactions by managing reconciliation workflows, analyzing payment data, resolving discrepancies, and supporting both internal teams and external partners.
You bring a strong understanding of payments and at least one payment rail. You’re analytical, detail-oriented, and thrive in fast-paced environments. You enjoy digging into transaction data to understand the flow of funds and identify root causes when something doesn’t add up. This role is cross-functional and requires someone who’s collaborative, resourceful, and ready to step in and make an impact right away.
Payment Reconciliation: Perform end-to-end reconciliation of payment transactions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of transaction data. Compare and match payment records from various sources, to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance payment processes and procedures to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and optimization of payment workflows.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, such as Product, Eng, I&O, and Support, to ensure seamless integration of payment operations with other business processes. Provide support and guidance to colleagues on payment-related matters.
Payment Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve payment-related issues, including payment failures, disputes, and discrepancies whilst providing satisfactory resolutions to customers and partners.
Bank Relationship: Work in partnership with our Banks to ensure we are in balance, and queries they have regarding a payment or balance is managed end to end.
Problem Solver: See a problem, help create the awareness, and drive the problem to resolution.
Documentation:Document, document, document; ensure new asks are well understood and documented for smooth training and transition.

The hourly range for this full-time position (USD: $45.00 - $60.00 CAD: $35.00 - $50.00) is determined by role, level, and location. The range informed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US and Canadian locations. Within the range, individual pay will be determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant training, and other factors.
