IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented Payment Operations Specialist in Moline, IL. You will support ACH processing, debit and credit card operations, and digital payment services to ensure accurate, timely member transactions.

The role requires problem solving, process monitoring, and collaboration with team members to meet daily deadlines. Prior banking experience and proficiency with MS Office are valued, with on-site duties at headquarters on River Drive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Experience in a financial institution, ACH or Credit/Debit card operations preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Process, monitor, balance, and resolve ACH transactions within deadlines.
• Handle ACH disputes, returns, stop payments, and research requests.
• Maintain debit/credit card services and related member updates.
• Review Remote Deposit Capture transactions for potential fraud and deposit limits.
• Establish and maintain ACH, wire, Treasury Management, and Business Online Banking for business members.
• Research and resolve payment-related questions from members and staff.
• Process mail payments and support daily operations for credit lines.
• Maintain department procedures and suggest improvements for efficiency and controls.

What You'll Do

The Payment Operations Specialist supports the daily operation of the Credit Union's payment services, including ACH processing, debit and credit card operations, digital payment products, and other payment and card related services. This position processes transactions accurately and efficiently, researches and resolves payment issues, and helps ensure daily operational deadlines are met. Responsibilities include:

• Process, monitor, balance, and resolve exceptions for incoming and outgoing ACH transactions within established deadlines.
• Handle ACH disputes, returns, stop payments, reclamations, and other research requests according to applicable rules and procedures.
• Maintain debit and credit card services, including account updates, closures, limit changes, restrictions, and other card-related requests.
• Review Remote Deposit Capture transactions, identify potential fraud, process exceptions, and adjust member deposit limits.
• Establish and maintain ACH, wire, Treasury Management, and Business Online Banking services for business members.
• Research and resolve payment-related questions from members and team members, providing timely follow-up.
• Process mail payments and support daily operations for Credit Union owned credit lines.
• Maintain department procedures and recommend improvements that strengthen efficiency, controls, and member service.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who is logical, dependable, and enjoys solving problems. Successful candidates will have:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• At least two years' experience working in a financial institution, ACH or Credit and Debit card operations preferred.

• Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with other banking software
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities
• A self-starter who can work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills when researching discrepancies and resolving payment-related issues
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities while meeting established processing deadlines
