Job summary
The City of Medford is seeking a Public Works Technician to support maintenance and construction of streets, drainage, and related infrastructure. The role requires experience with concrete, patching, overlay paving, crack sealing, and operating equipment such as rollers, skid steers, screeds, and pavers.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, two years of equipment operation or general construction experience, and may substitute a Construction Technology certificate for one year of
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two years of equipment operation, general construction or maintenance experience required.
- One-year Construction Technology certificate may substitute for one year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair streets, sewer lines, storm drainage, bridges, and related facilities.
- Operate a range of equipment including backhoes, skid steers, pavers, rollers, and trucks.
- Complete logs and reports on materials, equipment usage and fuel.
- Respond to emergencies and after-hours service calls as needed.
- Perform traffic control and flagging in work zones.
