LIBS Paving is seeking a skilled Paving Screw Operator to join our Indiana team. You will operate and maintain the paving screw and related equipment to ensure precise asphalt placement and finished surfaces.

The ideal candidate has experience with asphalt paving techniques, reads paving plans, and follows safety and quality standards. We value teamwork, reliability, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience operating paving equipment, especially paving screw machines, preferred.
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving techniques and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret paving plans and specifications.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control the paving screw to distribute and level asphalt mix.
• Monitor and adjust screw speed, angle, and depth for desired thickness and finish.
• Coordinate with crew for smooth paving operations.
• Perform pre-operation checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues and malfunctions.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Document work and communicate with Libs Paving and team.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Paving Screw Operator to join our team. The Paving Screw Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining paving equipment, particularly the paving screw, to ensure precise and efficient asphalt placement during paving operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of asphalt paving techniques and equipment operation, as well as a commitment to safety and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (will include but not limited to):

• Operate and control the paving screw to distribute and level asphalt mix during paving operations.
• Monitor and adjust paving screw speed, angle, and depth to achieve desired asphalt thickness and finish.
• Coordinate with paving crew members to ensure smooth and efficient paving operations.
• Conduct pre-operation equipment checks and routine maintenance to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or operational issues as they arise.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment.
• Keep an open line of communication with parent company, Libs Paving.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Previous experience operating paving equipment, particularly paving screw machines, is required.
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving techniques and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret paving plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Certification or training in equipment operation or asphalt paving techniques is preferred.
• Experience working in the construction or paving industry is a plus.
