Job summary

Libs Paving Co., Inc. in Floyds Knobs, IN, is seeking a hardworking team member to assist in preparation, grade, and excavation for asphalt paving. You will follow safety protocols and work under Foremen to support efficient job-site preparation.

The role requires dependable attendance, ability to lift heavy weights, and tolerance for noise and heat. You will operate equipment, install attachments, and help keep sites clean while communicating clearly with teammates.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Must pass drug test and keep COATS card valid.
• Must be dependable with good to excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Construction industry experience knowledge or training preferred.
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 75lbs.
• Must be able to withstand high noise level environments.
• Must be able to withstand various climate conditions including extreme heat and humidity.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows directions from Libs Paving Management team, Superintendent and Foremen.
• Safely operates equipment and manual tools to assist prep, grade and excavation work.
• Assists skid steer operator with attachments and transport to job sites.
• Assists Foreman and skid steer operator to securely load/unload equipment for transport.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and obstacles around skid steer and site.
• Keep prep area free of debris and maintain site cleanliness.
• Complete daily vehicle checklists and required documentation.
• Follow safety rules and practice personal and team safety at all times.
• Operate blower, saw, weed eater and compactor plate as needed for paving prep.
• Communicate effectively with team to share ideas and concerns.
• May operate Libs Paving equipment as trained.
• Install barricades to maintain site safety as necessary.
• Represent Libs Paving Co. with professionalism.

Job Summary

Safely and efficiently assists in the preparation, grade, and excavation of job sites for asphalt paving while being aware of surroundings at all times, and following safety protocols for customers of Libs Paving Co., Inc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (will include but not limited to):

• Follows any and all direction from Libs Paving Management team as well as Superintendent and Foremen.
• Safely and efficiently operates various pieces of equipment under the direction of Foreman, as well as manual tools to assist in the prep, grade and excavation work and perform other tasks for asphalt paving prep.
• Assists skid steer operator in installing attachments to skid steer as needed to complete a wide variety of tasks associated with paving jobs.
• Assists Foreman and skid steer operator to efficiently and safely secure skid steer to trailer for transport to and from job sites.
• Must be attention to detail oriented when working around skid steer to be aware of surroundings and the various obstacles that may be encountered.
• Must work with operators and foreman to keep prep area clean of debris.
• When driving company vehicles follows proper daily checklist and inspection procedures while completing documentation of same as required.
• Takes necessary precautions to insure job is being done in the safest manner possible. Is mindful of their personal safety as well as safety of team members and customers.
• Safely and efficiently operates blower, saw, weed eater and compactor plate to prepare job sites for paving.
• Effectively communicates with other team members with the ability to listen to other Team members’ ideas, suggestions, and concerns.
• May operate Libs Paving equipment as trained and if needed.
• Ensures site safety by installing barricades, as necessary.
• Adheres to all safety rules established in the Libs Paving Safety Program.
• Responsible for keeping truck interiors clean of debris while traveling to and from job sites.
• Maintains a high level of discipline and professionalism as a representative of Libs Paving Co.
